MMSPG has been selected to conduct the subjective tests on all the High Definition test material for the evaluation of the proponents who answered the Call for Proposal for High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC).
The High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) is the new generation of video compression technology being developped in the framework of the Joint Collaborative Team on Video Coding created by ITU-T Study Group 16 (VCEG) and ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 29/WG 11 (MPEG). The target of the new technology is to achieve higher compression capability than the existing MPEG-4/H.264 AVC standard.
The results of the subjective tests were presented at the first meeting of the JCT-VC in Dresden in April 2010. According to the results of the subjective test campaign, a consensus-supported “Test Model under Consideration” (TMuC) was selected, as a collection of features that appear promising from among those of the various proposals.
